Welcome to ISHMPR

As an affiliate of the Illinois Hospital Association (IHA), we are a group of healthcare marketing and communications professionals dedicated to offering networking, recognition and educational opportunities for professionals in the fields of healthcare public and community relations, marketing and affiliated services.

The Illinois Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations (ISHMPR) began in 1973 as a steering committee comprised of one public relations practitioner from each of the nine regions of the Illinois Hospital Association. Marketing professionals were formally included in the Society’s membership in 1987. Today, the Society is made up of professional healthcare communicators from a variety of disciplines. Membership is open to all healthcare marketing professionals across the state. Associate membership is offered for representatives of healthcare marketing and public relations firms and other related businesses. ISHMPR provides comprehensive opportunities for the professional growth and development of its members.

The Illinois Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations (ISHMPR) enables you to accomplish a number of important professional objectives:

Build Your Network Base: Exchange new ideas and theories with members and other professionals in the field to widen your perspective and gain in-depth knowledge.
Stay in Touch: Through White Space, the Society’s electronic newsletter, you’ll keep abreast of everything from events throughout the state to important national issues.
Be Recognized: Society members can earn recognition for creativity, hard work and innovative ideas through our annual communications awards, The Pinnacle Awards.

Help Chart Our Course: Consisting of elected members, the ISHMPR Board of Directors is a policy-making body which meets as needed to conduct the Society’s business.
Participate in the Issues: In addition to periodic regional seminars, the annual fall conference is planned to educate, explore and expand on current issues in the healthcare industry.
