System Director, Marketing

Job Description

Basic Function:

  • Develop annual marketing plan and direct successful execution of plan-required marketing campaign strategies for Memorial Health System, its three hospitals and its non-hospital affiliates to grow patient volumes and support the MHS Five-Year Business Strategy.
  • Direct the development of content, design and production of marketing messages to be placed through all media channels (traditional paid advertising; traditional non-paid advertising (i.e., direct mail); special events; on-site promotional messaging (i.e., posters; banners; patient handouts); Web-based and online platforms; social media; special events, meetings and other venues (to support intra-health system cross marketing of key MHS services).
    Direct the priorities and performance of the Health System marketing, graphic design and website/online marketing staff.
  • Direct, coordinate the development and management of annual marketing budget.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with Public Relations and Communication staff; allied staff (Print Shop; Photography; other); Health System clients; and external marketing and advertising agency partner and other vendors.
  • Closely coordinate efforts with, and provide necessary support to, System Director, Public Relations and Communication and System Director, Planning and Market Outreach to achieve synergy and maximum impact from marketing and communications efforts.
  • Achieve results consistent with Memorial Health System’s strategic goals and the MHS Marketing Standards of Excellence.

Requirements of this position include:

  • Master’s degree in communication, marketing or MBA required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience required in marketing and strategic message development for print, broadcast, outdoor, Web, online, social media and direct-to-consumer materials.
  • Minimum of five (5) years demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience and demonstrated success leading marketing team(s).
  • Excellent and proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent and diverse written and verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent and proven interpersonal, organizational, process facilitation, project and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated self-starter capable of managing work team quality and productivity.
  • Demonstrated maturity, positive team impact and strong personal and professional commitment to the MHS Marketing standards of excellence.
  • Possess a strong personal and professional commitment to Memorial Health System’s mission, vision, values and a Health System culture.
  • Moderate physical effort
