What hospital/affiliate do you represent?
How many years have you been an ISHMPR member?
What was your main reason for joining ISHMPR?
When i first joined O’Brien a co-worker (Cheryl Cebulski) was a board member with the association. She seemed so enthusiastic to contribute – and when she eventually left the company – I felt an intuitive need to fill her role. I remember reaching out to the board several times (nearly begging) to be a board member. Eventually my diligence paid off and was quickly moved into the Pinnacles Chair.
As an organization (and this goes way back and before my time), O’Brien was one of the first vendor partners to exhibit at the Fall Conference. ISHMPR has grown so much since my organization began contributing to the association. I’m proud to see where we are now – and it’s for reasons like these – that we join associations like ISHMPR. A great purpose tied with great people and opportunities; it’s a no brainer.
If you could express the value of what ISHMPR means to you in one sentence, what would it be?
Collaborative, like-minded individuals working toward a common goal. It’s all about the people.
What has been your favorite ISHMPR event and/or resource?
A few years ago we shared our Fall Conference with WHPRMS (Wisconsin Chapter). A casino night with a night cap of dueling pianos was really something else. The blended cultures created a fun dynamic that was enjoyable by most who attended. It’s where i got to meet a lot of my closer friends from the association; people I’m still very close with today.
