ISHMPR Recognizes Lynn Woller with Individual Achievement Award
Illinois Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations honors professionals across State
New Lenox, IL (Nov. 16, 2012)—The Illinois Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations (ISHMPR) honored marketing, public relations and communications professionals from across the state at its 2012 Annual Conference and Pinnacle Awards Presentation Nov. 1 and 2 at Courtyard by Marriot in Downtown Chicago. Lynn Woller was the 2012 recipient of the Society’s new Individual Achievement Award, which recognizes an ISHMPR member for contribution to the healthcare marketing and public relations profession.
“Lynn’s selfless dedication to the Illinois Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations over the years combined with her passion in the field makes her the perfect recipient of the Society’s very first Individual Achievement Award,” says Tracy Simons, 2012 ISHMPR President.
Lynn Woller is the Marketing, Communications & Web Development Manager at OSF Healthcare System in Peoria, IL. A graduate of Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications, Woller began her career at Black Hawk College-East Campus in Kewanee as a public relations specialist, communications instructor and advisor to student newspaper. In 1987, she was recruited by Kewanee Hospital to develop a healthcare marketing program. Woller spent 10 years as Marketing Director with responsibility for overall marketing strategy, including employee communications, new employee orientation, community and media relations, and volunteer services.
She joined OSF Healthcare System in 1997, as manager of marketing and communications, Woller was responsible for Corporate Office communications including System newsletters and annual reports. Her position evolved with the development of new communication channels and distribution as well as brand management. She developed an organizational identity program for OSF HealthCare, including visual and spoken identity standards before transitioning into web strategy and execution. Today, she manages a staff including publications editor and three web specialists, as well as coordinating activities with a number of external vendor partners to achieve online marketing objectives.
In addition to a successful career in healthcare marketing, Woller has been a member of the Illinois Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations for over 22 years. She served three two year terms as ISHMPR President as well as Chair of the Programming, Membership, Nominating, By-laws, and Pinnacle Award Committees.
“The favorite part of my role within ISHMPR has been the opportunity to network with so many accomplished health care marketing and communications professionals from across the State of Illinois,” said Woller. “I have especially enjoyed mentoring of new and younger members of ISHMPR as they begin their careers and bring fresh ideas into the health care marketing and public relations profession.”
